Forming a Team
Forming a team is fast and easy. You do not need to know who all will be on your team before you register the team name and start recruiting. Forming a team is a great way to bring together friends, family members, fellow students, neighbors and colleagues. It's a terrific way to build team spirit in any organization. Your team can be made up of runners, walkers, Sleep In for the Cure participants, and online fundraisers. Rain or shine, your team will join more than 25,000 participants to celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors and remember those we have lost their battle. Simply select a team captain and a team name and then get registered. Be sure to check out the 'forms and tools tab' at the top left of this page for lots of great downloadable information to help you get started.
There are five Team Categories to choose from: Corporation: Team members are employees, family members of employees, or friends of employees who work at a 'for profit' organization. Medical: Team members are employees, family members of employees, or friends of employees who work in a medical or health care profession such as a hospital, doctor's office, or other health care related industry. School/College/University: Team members are employees or students, family members of employees or students, or friends of students or employees who work at an educational institution. Spiritual/Religious Organization: Team members are together as a result of a church group or some type of religious or spiritual group. Other: Team members are together because of their affiliation with any one of the following: non profit organizations, clubs, associations, community groups, family groups, or groups of friends.
Registration
Teams should register online in order to take advantage of the personal and team web pages, online fundraising tools and of course to take advantage of the price break. Team Captains must register the team name first before others can join the team. Team captains should select the "Form a team" button on the registration page. Team members will select the "Join a Team" button on the registration page or by using the shortcut URL created by the team captain.
All Race day packets will be mailed to participants that register online on or before Columbus Day, Monday, October 11th, 2010.
It's never too late to register! If you or someone that wants to join your team misses the online registration deadline (10/11/10) don't worry. We offer walk up registration at Luke's Locker Dallas and NorthPark Center. If you can't access the internet we also offer mail in registration. Payment Options
- Credit Cards or Corporate Billing Forms will be accepted for online registration
- Credit Cards, Checks or Cash will be accepted for paper registration
- We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express
-Checks must be made payable to “Komen Dallas Race for the Cure®”. -If one team member is paying for multiple participants with one check the check number should be written on each registration form. -Our online registration will allow one team member to pay by credit card for multiple entries.
Fundraising
If every registered participant raised $100, over $2.4 million would be raised to support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.
A minimum of 25% of the funds raised is dedicated to national research to find ways to end breast cancer forever. Up to 75% of the net proceeds is granted to Dallas County organizations that support screening, treatment and diagnostic assistance for those who could not otherwise receive this needed medical aid.
Individual Awards ~ By raising funds to support our efforts you automatically begin to earn prizes based on the amount of funds raised. To see the incentives go to the "Pledge for the Cure" tab or www.komen-dallas.org/pledge.
Team Awards ~ The team in each division (corporate, medical, spiritual, school or other) that raises the most money will be awarded with a trophy and the team captain will be invited to our post Race Thank You Event in January. ~ The largest team in each division (corporate, medical, spiritual, school or other) will be awarded a trophy and the team captain will be invited to our post Race Thank You Event in January.
Teams t-shirt Contest
An award will be given to the team captain with the best t-shirt design. Details: * Drop off your t-shirt at Luke's Locker Dallas at 3607 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219 between Oct 1 & Oct 13 for entry into the contest. * Or mail your t-shirt to "Teams Chair" c/o Komen Dallas RFTC Tees, 12820 Hillcrest Rd Ste C105, Dallas, TX 75230-1526. * Your package must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 13th to be eligible for the contest. * Note: The Susan G. Komen logos CANNOT be used, & t-shirts should not be pink, mandarin orange or Carrbbean blue * Please pin your team name and team captain contact info inside the t-shirt. * Top 5 t-shirts will be selected on 10/14 and will be on display Race day at the pledge tent. * We will accept donations as votes for the top 5 designs to designate the t-shirt contest winner. * The t-shirt with the most donations will be the winner! * Yes, you can vote / donate for your own t-shirt.

Featured Team

Team Captain Incentive
Komen Dallas will award a prize package every month from July through October to the team captain whose team has raised the most amount of money during that month. Call us for details 214-750-RACE.
