2010 Pledge for the Cure Information

Join our mission to end breast cancer forever by participating in the Pledge for the Cure program.  You can raise funds by collecting donations from your friends, family, classmates and co-workers.  Use your personal web page to collect online donations.  Take your pledge form and your support me fundraising cards everywhere you go.  Us them to share your personal fundraising goal with others.  Many people will be grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the cause.  After you have collected all of your checks and money orders please mail them along with a completed pledge to PO Box 678456, Dallas, TX 75267-8456.  Please do not mail cash.  Earn great prizes based on the online and offline dollars you collect by using your personal web page at My Race Center.

Online Donations 
When you register for the race a personal web page is automatically created for you.  Online donations can be collected by promoting your personal web page.  You can also link your personal web page to your Facebook page where friends can donate directly.

Offline Donations (checks & money orders)
There are many ways to fundraise and promote your participation in the Race for the Cure.  Download a fundraising toolkit here.  As you collect checks and money orders please consider these guidelines. 
1. Offline donations (checks and or money orders) should be collected by the Race participant and mailed in monthly or all at once with an official Pledge for the Cure form.  The pledge form should detail each donor, check number and amount, along with a total. Funds received by the office without a form attached will not be counted for prize purposes. 

2.  Please have checks made payable to Komen Dallas Race for the Cure®.

3.  Please have donors write the Race participants name in the memo portion of the check.

4. The pledge form and checks must be post marked and mailed to the P.O. Box 678456, Dallas, TX 75267-8456 NO LATER THAN November 12, 2010.  Please do not mail cash.

5. The offline donations will be posted online only as a total (each individual donor may not be listed). 

6. Funds brought to the Race will be included on your personal fundraising web page only if they meet the above requirements.

Pledge for the Cure Form 

You can submit your Pledge for the Cure donations during on-site registration at NorthPark Center or Luke’s Locker - Dallas.  You may also submit the donations the morning of the race at NorthPark Center.  Look for the Pledge for the Cure tent.  Please bring your completed Pledge form along with your collected donations in a sealed envelope.  Print your name, phone number and address on the sealed envelope.   If you wish to mail your donations, send them along with the completed Pledge form (DO NOT MAIL CASH) to the following address:

Pledge for the Cure Top Prizes

The team captain in each category; Corporation, Medical, School, Spiritual Organization, or Other, that raises the most money by November 12th will receive a trophy and an invitation to our post Race Thank You Event.    

Pink Honor Roll 

We're doing something special to honor the top fundraisers!  The top 100 fundraisers each year will be included in the Pink Honor Roll and invited to our Post Race Thank You Event.  If you are part of the Pink Honor Roll top 100 you will receive a long sleeve t-shirt with all of the names of the top 100 fundraisers on it to show off your success.

Pledge for the Cure Individual Prize Eligibility

(Prizes are not cumulative. Substitution of gifts/certificates of equal value may be necessary pending availability.)

 Individual prize eligibility will be determined based on donations received as of November 12, 2010.
If your employer has a Matching Funds Program please attach the necessary form(s) and your donations will go twice as far.  Matching funds will be considered for prize determination if they are received by the Dallas County Affiliate Office as by 11/12/10.

Race Participants
When you register online a personal web page is automatically created for you to use.  You can personalize your page with photos and a story about why you fundraise.  Use your fundraising cards to direct people to your fundraising center.

Non-Race Participants
You do not have to run, walk or Sleep In for the Cure to participate in fundraising for the race.  Non-race participants can register to be an online fundraiser and a personal customizable web page will be automatically generated.  You can join a team, form a team or register as an individual fundraiser.  During the registration process simply select the online fundraiser participation type. *Note* You will not receive a Race t-shirt or runner participation bib.  You can send out fundraising emails and schedule events from your personal web page just like the other participants.

My Race Center (your personal webpage)
Your personal web page can be customized by uploading personal photos and writing text about why you participate. You can send emails from your webpage to friends, family members, and co-workers asking them to support you by making an online donation.  Download instructions here.
